Back during the Cold War America had helped many just to keep them on the sides of America and not of the Soviet Union. Best of 2 evils you may say. Best to have them on our side than to have them join forces with the Soviet Union.

I agree with what your saying, but with the Cold War was more than just with Reagon. It went further than that.

Many will not agree, many may even say I am flat out lieing. But the Vietnam War also had alot to do with the down fall of the Soviet Union and bring the end of the Cold War. Then when The Russian invaded Afghanstan, we gave aid to the Ahghanstan. This too gave a blow to the Fall of the Soviet Union. But who did we help with that? Bin Ladin...
