Short list of people happy the Dems won the election
#41
"Responding to a humbling election, White House aides said Sunday that
President Bush would welcome new ideas about the unpopular war in Iraq, even from Democrats he had branded as soft on terrorism." hmmmm Are these the same Democrats that want, "America to roll over for terrorists", "To appease anyone and everyone", "Talk things over with the world before making a defensive strategeryTM", etc. Now these are some things that people on the right said about Democrats prior to this election and also the previous Presidential election. If this is your position as well, will you agree that if the Democrats' positions are good enough for "A war president", they're good enough for you, too? Or has Bush completely lost it now. Bigger government, higher deficits and now talking with Democrats about war strategeryTM? What's next? Smoking weed on Air Force One?

I think a lot of liberals DO want to roll over for terrorists, but as I said in previous posts I think the party leaders of the democratic party are smart enough to realize that if they play their cards right here they could hold on to controll of both houses and probably the presidency in the next election, as well as elections to come. What I hope happens is this is a wake up call to conservatives and hopefully a new contract for America like back in 94 is made, and we get some good republican leaders back in congress that won't spend money like crazy, and have good strong conservative values.

No matter what your opinion is about (evil, commie, pinko, terrorist appeasing) Democrats, now that Bush wants their opinion, is that still not good enough for you?

Fast forward to Sunday night. Bush is now meeting with the same people (about war plans) that were vilified before the election. If Bush is willing to listen to their opinions, then the same Americans who have been yelling about the Dems' blanket 'cut & run' policy (again, not true across the board) should be able to accept their opinions.

You still got it wrong Ken_O, we are closer to being the least taxed country in the world rather than being closer to the most taxed.
Although I am sure that the new Democratic majority in Congress is going to do everything in its power to move us up in the rankings.

This was played up pre-election (this one and also the last Presidential election) to rounds of applause at various campaign stops by either Big Dick Cheney or GWB.
Permanent bases all over the country. Largest embassy ever. That right there (alone) ought to tell the people a whole lot.
