Hey has anyone ever tried using voice recognition software to take notes or write while driving? I was looking at this website: http://www.nuance.com/naturallyspeaking/ and realized they have a version of it that works with the Palm. Seems like it's built for that kinda thing, wondering if it's good enough or if road noise makes it not understand the words.

that seems like a pretty cool program. Wonder if it is limited to the programs you can use with it. For example, could you use it with MS S & T or maybe here on CAD?
If so, I bet it would be worth the money Just my 0.02

Works great, if you have the time to program word speach reconition. It has almost endless list of words you have to repeat. I am not sure if it can be used for times or numbers though. Like you crossing the state line at 4:30EST at 10,000,000,000 miles. But the words are good.

I think I'll order a copy, I'll let you know if I get it to work while driving.

Well, I got a copy of Dragon. It works excellent at home, like it recognized me right out of the box with about 90% accuracy. I've been correcting it when it makes mistakes and now it's up to about 94% accurate. Pretty good. Driving, though, is a problem. It hears road noise as words sometimes. I tried it in my friend's beamer and it worked just fine, but in anything with a diesel engine it starts to get confused. I'm still working on finding a headset/microphone - maybe there's something out there that would work better to separate my voice from noise than the default one it came with. Anyway, it still works on the road, just not as well as it does at home.
