Please would you refresh my memory? I don't know who you mean.
I would be happy to refresh your memory. Some of us payed attention to the news stories even during Clinton and have better than a short term memory. Mel Reynolds was a democrat represenitive from Chicago. He was CONVICTED and sentenced to prison time for having sex with a 16 year old and trying to get her to lie about it. HE WAS SENTENCED TO PRISON AND BILL CLINTON PARDONED HIM. Im truly surprised you dont remember it. Oh wait....it wasnt that big of a news story to the media. Hmmmm I wonder why? Does that upset you? If it doesnt....WHY?

An academic achiever, he won a Rhodes Scholarship to Lincoln College in the University of Oxford. Reynolds was unsuccessful in his 1986, 1988, and 1990 campaigns against Congressman Gus Savage. However, Reynolds was able to defeat Savage in 1992. He served in the House of Representatives from 1993 to 1995. In August 1994, he was indicted for having sex with a 16-year-old campaign volunteer. Despite the charges, he continued his campaign and was re-elected in November 1994. Reynolds initially denied the charges, which he claimed were racially motivated. On August 22, 1995 he was convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography. He resigned his seat on October 1, 1995. Reynolds was sentenced to five years in prison and expected to be released in 1998. However, in April 1997, he was convicted on 15 unrelated counts of bank fraud and lying to SEC investigators. These charges resulted in an additional sentence of 78 months in federal prison. Reynolds served all of his first sentence and served forty-two months in prison for the later charges. At that point, U.S. President Bill Clinton commuted the sentence for bank fraud. As a result, Reynolds was released from prison and served the remaining time in a half way house. Hmmmm I wonder why? Does that upset you? If it doesnt....WHY? Possibly because young women are so often raped with no consequenes to the offender. Am I inured? Sadly, that's possible.

You talk about the "majority of people" being in the middle. I beg to differ. The VAST MAJORITY of people dont understand squat about politics. Most of those people in the middle would just as soon vote for someone because of their eye color as they would for any sort of stand on the issues. I can't completely disagree with this. But, I think, rather than EYE color, they would vote for less contentious and dangerous politicians. They JUST want to "get along." Just because I tend to vote far right doesnt mean I'm not voting for all people. Yes... it does! I'M VOTING FOR WHAT I FEEL BEST FOR ALL PEOPLE.....INCLUDING ALL THOSE PEOPLE IN THE MIDDLE WHO REALLY DONT KNOW SQUAT ABOUT POLITICS. And YOU are going to SAVE them from their middle of the road selves? Who appointed YOU the keeper of the Constitution? What makes you think YOU know what is BEST for them? Ive been heavily involved in politics for a 22 years...Local, state and even federal. I promise there is nothing you can say that would convince me that anything other than GOOD STRONG CONSERVATIVE POLICIES could be better for all Americans...poor, middle class or wealthy. Oh... I agree that nothing I say will wake you up and bring you back to the contitutional ideal of representation for the MIDDLE of the road American. We lean toward the right in some areas, and towards the left in others. But, for that, we are labeled as LIBERAL by those who espouse ONLY right wing politics. You know you are the one that doesn't seem to embrace this country and what it stands for. Please feel free to find ONE quote of mine that doesn't support just THAT! I'm perfectly ok with you having leftist socialist views. Its your right Ooohhh... I KNEW that word (socialist) would come up sooner or later. ....I guess you could call me tolerant. Not LIKELY! You, on the other hand, like most leftists, can't stand anyone that doesn't share your own ideology. So... you're saying I can't STAND my parents? Please correct me if I'm wrong... but I believe "I" was the one willing to go along with the will of the "centrist" vote.... while YOU said you'd do anything to avoid it! Wasn't it Ann Coulter who wrote the book about "How to talk to a Liberal... IF you MUST?" Doesn't sound like a tolerant stance to ME! Just like MOST of the pablum YOU are spewing. "I Want! I Want! ME! ME! ME! The average, middle of the road voter is an IDIOT! Leftists are COMMIES!" ..... we've heard it ALL before! And we're NOT impressed! Hobo

I really thought they should have indicated he was a milk truck driver. Maybe I'm the only one who objected to the media describing the schoolhouse killer as a "truck driver." To me, when I heard the reports, I was thinking 18 wheeler driver. So when it turned out to be a milk truck driver, I thought how a lot of long distance drivers were wrongly associated with the killer. I was thinking that before you posted. So when you posted as if people would have a good opinion of truck drivers, just naturally, I wanted to say I was upset that that the opinion was being affected... wrongly.

Consider: You have neither read the thread on the killer on the "new drivers" forum, NOR have you understood the news accounts.
He was NOT a "milk truck driver." He drove a "food grade" tanker truck, collecting milk from the co-op of farmers, and delivering it to a processing plant. Sort of like Nomad, who collects eggs from farmers and delivers them to a processing plant. He MUST have a class A CDL, because he drives a "combination" vehicle, not a straight truck. But, that doesn't really matter. He's a Truck Driver like the rest of us, and he killed a bunch of adolescent girls! The fact that the media keeps referring to him as a "Milk Truck Driver" only furthers my distrust of anything they say. They are idiots reading a screen full of words written by idiots! So... are you now more willing to believe anything they say about the WAR? Or anything ELSE affecting our country?

I think the girls were mostly under the age of puberty. This is what I found showing their ages,
Five girls aged 7, 7, 8, 12 and 13 were killed, including two sisters, and five survivors aged 6, 8, 8, 11 and 13 remain hospitalized, four of them in critical condition.

When no one mentioned it after I did on this thread, I thought people were sort of muffled by the media. I was picturing him delivering milk, door to door, like in the old days. I thought because it was an Amish community that maybe they still had old time things like that. I'm sorry to have totally misunderstood.

According to the police spokesman: "He would park his company's COMMERCIAL TRUCK nearby, or sometimes at his home." I've SEEN his shiny silver milk tanker on the news. It is INDEED an "articulated" combination truck. Is that settled now? References to a "milk run" or a "milk truck" driver, are simply ignorance on behalf of FOX news reporters or others. Can we put this to rest now? Is EVERYONE on the same PAGE now??????? Like someone said, It really doesn't matter. I just like to keep the FACTS straight!
