Lonewulf: Sorry about some of the guys. You just kinda need thick skin to be a lady trucker. But, it's not ALL bad. One night I rode with a couple of trucks from Needles to Barstow and one was a lady trucker. She seemed to have a rolling conversation with a bedbugger driving for Bekins. They had a real good conversation, and the guy NEVER stepped outa line. One thing I noticed was that she inserted into the conversation real early about her MAN at home. Even if you don't currently have one, you might still want to say so. Use your son's name and tell 'em all how much he loves you. Another thing that helped her was that she was REAL knowledgeable about her truck and the motor. Guys kinda like that. Anyway, best of luck.

Handle? Back in the good ole days when we used them, I had a cb in my 4wheeler and rode with the trucks across country when in the military. I smoked a pipe at the time, so....

You got the Smokestack..... kick it on back! Being a poet, I couldn't resist the rhyme.

hello .. Nutpicker - Xaat Xuun - Slimland - CDL-Sistah - rusty nail - freakout - chickenfriend and Smokestack ......... glad to see you added your handles ...

hope you'll take time to read some of the names on the thread here, and when you hear them on the hwy - you'll give them a holler. This helps to make this road a bit friendlier and smaller.

we're all ' family members of sort, that we haven't gotten to know yet ' .. so let's keep the line open to each other out there.

When 19 and lived in Casper, WY I used to party and always drank Sloe Screws (sloe gin and orange juice) and the drivers told me if i ever started driving to go by Slow Screw, I did, but spelled it Slo Scru. When I became a mommy I decided to try to be respectable and went by my nick name, Rikki, and have ever since. Some still call me SS and I answer to it. Drive for myself pulling my belly dump, truck is blue with white fenders with the # 359 on the bumper

painted pony (go figure I raise registered paint horses)
Been at this off an on since 1982 (sold out went to collage got degree), flat out do not communicate on the CB but for short info inquiries (no not bear reports, I don't drive that fast anymore even though my truck will do over 80mph) Some men are cool about us women some are not, I don't worry about it I have more important things to do. Own a 2000 Freightliner Century Condo (retired US Express truck) Haul some for myself as Cedar Ridge Farms and most for JRC.
some old handles I had were Bee Bop, Tazmanian Devil and Jetski. Hey I went through my share of phases too.

Hi 4roses, I've done alot of thinking about handles since I've started driving and guess I'm going to go with Rambling rose, years ago when I played around on the CB in my car I went by wild rose, but as I get older the wild has slowed down. Now that I am driving I think I like rambling rose. Rose is also my favorite flower and my hubby brings them to me often. Some days I feel like I'm rambling out here on the open road. My husband and myself drive for CRST and our truck number is 5305. I'd like to hear from anyone while I'm driving so give me a shout.
