Holy Crap! Where were you? On the old part of the highway or up north of Whitehorse?
How have you been?...haven't been able to raise you since you left me in the dust the last time I got to run with you!  So glad to hear you are unhurt, & only shook up!

Those things can sneak up on you, can't they...
Sure glad it didn't catch you broadside. There'd be a different story to tell. I've gone through roads that were posted "NO SNOW PLOWING AT NIGHT", because you can not see them coming at night. But, it was at night that I went through there, and I was sure checking how far down the low side went the whole way. I could just imagine the truck making the short trip to the bottom. If an avalanche can take loaded boxcars off a track, they certainly can take a loaded truck off the highway. Glad you're ok. Hope that's the worst you ever get. But, it's something you will be able to talk about for years to come. And, as for the language... Don't worry about it. I've heard far worse than that at Waves Boot Camp back in the Navy. At least, yours didn't make my ears wilt.:lol: Considering the fact that northern Canada is not the only area that is prone to avalanches, it might be a good thing to post a couple of those pics on the new drivers forum. There are places in Idaho, Utah, Colorado, and others that could give another driver an experience like that. Something to watch out for, and something to know how to deal with.

Ok, so once again I offer LadyNorthStar a job as a trainer in my school.
One thing I will NOT have to work on is the swearing. Usually it takes me months to train someone who can string that many things together in one sentence. She can run in the snow, swear like a logger, drive at night, get hit by slides and come out with not much more than a few dents. Where you been all my life?? |
