The new 07 CATs have a spark plug, ignition coil, and fuel injector in the exhaust system. An electronic exhaust system with inlet and outlet pressure and temperature sensors to trigger catalyst regeneration.
WOW  I wish I could talk our shop Foreman into swapping out engines, I'll take a regular C15 please, just think of the better auction price... My 01 Pete got sold at auction yesterday, in Grande Prarie.

![]() The difference is where the gases are routed from. The "dirty" gases from the EGR engines are the cause of most of the EGR valve failures.

Cat is crap !
Cummins ISX is now a proven engine and totally compliant ! The ISX `07 has a better built EGR valve, located farther down stream and made by a different manufacture. The biggest change is a serviceable muffler ( that means it can be cleaned ... not replaced ). The `07 Cummins ISX is a highly superior engine ... and moving up from a very good foundation ! CAT SUCKS (then they blow up).
