Re: rates
Hey, Terry, are you getting use to wearing slippers and white gloves? I was in Laredo this week and asked Art about your account. I think that he actually feels sorry for you guys. I'll stick to what I do.

As of Friday,, 22 Feb 2008 I have been in my truck for one year with TMC. I have been in Long Haul, Line Haul and Dedicated Divisions. I have learned a lot and look forward to learning more. For the most part, I have enjoyed driving for TMC. They are not perfect, nevertheless they are a very good company. I only have very small complaints.

congrats on making it to 1 year!
keep the shiney side up! BND |
Good job Terry. We met in DSM last year, I was with BND I believe.
Not sure what's up with me. I have an ancient elbow problem that is rearing it's ugly head. Going to see doctors today. Even though I am not claiming a comp thing or on-the-job injury, TMC medical is making me get a return to work slip. That makes sense though. Been a bad year. Father getting sick, dropping a log on my foot, snowstorms, crappy freight, etc. Hope something changes for the better soon. |

I was in Indy yesterday and spoke with a million miler with TMC at the shop. He said what I had heard from others that,
TMC is no longer doing first in first out dispatch, where the early bird got the better load. Now its 2800-3200 a week across the board, so if one driver has say a 1500 load to deliver on monday, then the rest of the week will be flat, as to keep, or get as close to that range. Or if a driver has say 1800 near the end, he will get a better load, even if unloaded later in the day? I saw this with another driver, he unloaded same day, and was dispatched from ND, when he went to load the next morning, he was told they had to pull him off the load, in favor for a shorter drywall load from LaFarge, however a friend of his and mine both, who delivered later, got the same load that ND had orginally given him. Is this true? I have seen the winter downturn, thats one thing, but Ive beginning to notice that I havenet been offered some bigger $$ or mile loads, if I am off to a decent week. Maybe this is just linehaul. I have been here for 3 years now. |

Maybe this is just linehaul. I have been here for 3 years now. In some ways it doesn't make sense. If they have a $$$ load that is a 20 mile bounce for you and a 150 mile bounce for your buddy...why would TMC spend $150 to move your buddy when they could move you for $20 (given the $1 a mile to run a truck). So, as usual, I am having an argument with myself. As far as good information coming from any driver, 1,000,000 or 1,000 miles, not a chance. Sometimes the true old timers are full of more crap than anyone. We sit in the darn truck theorizing and thinking all day, sometimes fantasy becomes reality. Rule #1, never believe a TMC driver. |
