This high % rumor has been floated around before, mostly at shippers when we don't seem to have anything to do. It makes some sense but I highly doubt that it is anything more than TMC driver lore.
I had the opportunity to watch the load coordinating once. The pace is very frenetic and all about getting the freight moving. The FM's and LC's are almost in a frenzy to load trucks and get them moving. There is a tremendous amount of e-mails and online communications going on. The screens blink and flash like crazy going from load programs, the internet, and e-mails. I seriously doubt that there is a godlike figure that has the time to to this evil work. As TMC is in the process of preplanning loads the day before, I don't see how they could put it all together to save the %. Believe what you will. |
TMC
Hi everyone, I'm new to this board so I hope I'm doing this right lol.
My husband will be leaving for Des Moines very soon. I'm really sacared about the change. He has worked for a local gas company driving a tanker for the last 9 years, but the company pays by the hour and they have cut back over time and our paycheck is hurting. I hope TMC is the right choice. I have questions for some of you TMC drivers. 1. Is it really true that most TMC drivers make $60,000 their first year? (most important question LOL) 2. My husband has 9 years of driving experance, will this help him get a truck of his own faster? 3. Do the drivers really get home every weekend? (we live in WV) 4. Overall, do you like TMC and do they treat you well? ok I guess that is all for right now, Im sure I'll think of some more later LOL! Thanks in advance for anyone willing to reply. |

Yes, his training should be cut to 2 or 4 weeks depending on his driving abilities during a pretest. 3. I like the company. they treat me well. Other drivers and posters here may agree or disagree. Good luck. |

I hope TMC is the right choice. I have questions for some of you TMC drivers. 1. Is it really true that most TMC drivers make $60,000 their first year? (most important question LOL)- it depends on his ability and desire. securing loads safely and without wasting a lot of time will give him time behind the wheel and help get him to his cons in time for a break and he can start again the next day. 2. My husband has 9 years of driving experance, will this help him get a truck of his own faster? not sure about the training stuff. i know that someone else on the board has that info 3. Do the drivers really get home every weekend? (we live in WV) that seems like a pretty good area. again someone else will have the answer. 4. Overall, do you like TMC and do they treat you well? yes and yes. paychecks dont bounce and they are in the bank on friday night/saturday morning.(for me at least) ok I guess that is all for right now, Im sure I'll think of some more later LOL! Yeah, I remember when I was at 32%. Say goodbye to all the high dollar loads when you are empty at the same place where a 27% guy is sitting empty. Why is it, when someone is doing good, and happy with their success, some moron has to try and ruin it? Some of you, if you have nothing good to say, go aggrevate someone else. |
