Whatever you do, stay away from Nuverra Environmental Solutions (Formerly Badlands Power Fuels) from Watford City, N.D. I worked for them for nearly three years before I found out the truth about them. They are hiring 15 to 20 new drivers a week to replace the 30 or so that quit every week. They paint you a great picture but the reality is much different. They have a safety dept. that hides in the weeds with spotting scopes looking for anyone not wearing a vest or safety glasses etc. Their attitude is strictly, "Gotcha!" The recruiting dept. works overtime to recruit drivers and the safety dept. works twice as hard to get rid of them.
It is much more expensive to live and work up there than anyone will tell you. The money sounds good, but take away the cost of their housing ($1100.00 per month for a ONE bedroom apartment, $2300.00 for a two bedroom), the price of food and the rip off atmosphere of nearly every business involved in the oil field area, and you don't wind up with much. Add in the fact that people are getting killed every day in the insane traffic situation up there and suddenly it doesn't sound so good anymore.
