Ok folks here's the lastest scoop for me...

My FM told me last monday that I would be released to go to the local board at the end of this week. I rolled through the yard on tuesday and spoke to my new FM he wanted me to come in monday at 0700am and be ready to drive at that time.

Friday evening I rolled into San Bernardino after DH from Calexico, CA with an empty trailer. I dropped the trailer and cleaned out my truck. Im now home kicking back watching movies with the wife.
My son is at StageCoach Festivel here in Coachella. He'll be watching Jason Aldean and Toby Keith perform today.
I just wanted to move back in and adjust to home life..... so far so good.... the wife hasnt killed me yet.

The nitty gritty....

last few weeks my pay has been about 550-600 net.
When i start this new board.. I'll be getting .32mi, with 21.50 a drop/hook and if I have to do live load its 15.00 ontop of that. If im there for more then 1.5hrs I start to get 12.50 an hr ontop of that. I was told that I'll get at the start 4-5 runs a day.
I was told that if I want get more miles and loads to go in at 3pm and work till 12am since traffic will be less. I can also work a 6th day if I want and make more money... One vet driver told me that i'll start making about 800-900wk. if I do a 6th day I can make close to 1200wk.
I'll be interested what the actual check will look like... I'll post that in a few weeks.

I go in at 0630am on monday...... And now the story changes again.....

Hi OrangeTXguy!

It was hard to adjust to sleeping in bed with my wife and new dog.. She got the dog so she had someone to sleep with while I was gone. I swear this damn dog is wanting me to leave so he can have my side of the bed again...

WOW....
Its been awhile since I posted anything on here. Had to jump on when I finally remembered to do so....

Been pulling the containers out of the rail yards still. Only downside is im working nights... but the upside is that im not dealing with the traffic here in LA. I dont sit very often to offload since most of my loads are drop and hook.

The bad part is on friday and saturday nights theres not much for empty containers so it might take 20-45mins of looking for one. whats nice is I get paid for all miles ran and after the 3 location ive stopped at i start getting paid hourly till I find one.

The office people are pretty cool since theres maybe 2-3 people in there at night. Everything is pretty relaxed except for safety... screw up and your probably gone...

Business is kinda busy and from what im hearing more and more frieght is going to go on rail for cross country. Not good for the OTR drivers.

My pay is about 750-800 and I work 5 nights.

I took last week off and drove my son up to Billings, Montana for his college orientation. Guess who I see driving north on HWY 15 in Idaho?

DevilDice....

I was passing these two o/op guys and as an Ex flatbedder im checking his tarp job and seeing if any of the straps look loose... as I past I see the "High Seas to Highway" saying painted onto the back of the cab.... brakes come on and I look up and start waving... glad devildice recognized me...lol...

anyway we pulled over and spoke for a few minutes till we had to beat feet north....

GREAT SEEING YOU AGAIN Greg!

WOW... Almost a year since I posted on here...
Little bit of an update.. Im now on days.... Working nights just wasnt working out for me... Couldnt sleep during the day and was just in a fog during the week. On my days off trying to adjust to regular time just plain sucked. I walked into work one evening and was told by a day driver that there might be a couple day spots open. I walked in and was lucky to find the person I needed to speak with. He said no problem you can start next sunday at 7am and have fri-sat off.
Been doing days and loving the normal life..... pay checks arent to bad, depends on freight... still avg about 800-900+/- a week and home by depending on loads, 7-8 or 9pm.... live 40mins away from terminal.
Been here for 2yrs now. One thing thats kinda weired is im paid 4.50 a day just showing up to work. We have some guys that are paid 40bucks a day.. those are the 20vets.
