Most swift trucks, especially freightliners, the spedo will say 2 to 3 miles faster then it is really going.

As I sit looking all around,
Confusion and uncertainty is all I found.
The answers are there,
But I do not know where.
Optimistic and hopeful dreams,
Are all I have so it seems.
The future I do not know,
So all I can do is take it slow.
But I do know it will work out,
So I wait and watch without a doubt

Our company claims the 68 mph is more for their insurance rates than the price of fuel.

i passed quite a few of the company drivers with the mid-roof volvo i had been assigned to. the rolling hills of iowa killed their speed more.

Mine is a Volvo 780, the one used mostly for teams even though I'm solo. The speedo says 60 and by dog (I'm dyslexic you know) that's what the GPS says too.

Well cowboy....it really don't mean ****tttt how fast your twuck goes, quack, quack....all that counts is how much you put in your bank at the end of the week......

If speed is what you care about, cancel your CDL, and then get a Class E, find a crack house and smoke til your brains fry.....

****!! You morons keep worrying about how fast you can go......speed has absolutely nothing to do with earnings.....its who you work for, or how much crap you do for free.

Get real, get a life, get a brain.......

Ya know....some of y'all are sick un's.......:moon:

See for me, it is not about speed equaling money, it is about being faster then whomever I can be faster of If I could do 300 mph down the road, I would But I think we need to wait another 50 or so years when we have hover trucks for that... but then again by then they will probably be automated with no drivers, so I guess we would all be SOL anyway...

Found out from a couple of other drivers and a Cummins tech that, on a cold engine, if you turn the key on without starting, let it set for at least 10 seconds, this will close the EGR valve. After the ten seconds, then unplug the lower EGR wire. The EGR remains closed. This will throw a fault code, but no check engine light, no limp mode, etc. Truck runs smoother, less soot buildup around the stacks, and, in my case, a 1+ mpg increase. Others have seen about a 1 mpg increase as well, give or take.
