Thanks for all the help guys on the 13 speed, so what do you all think about that driving job with that small company? He said he should have the truck ready Friday( just picked a fairly new Freight Shaker up) and have me one the road by Monday or Tuesday.

and then when you get used to the 13 speed, and change jobs back into a 10 speed.... it might take a while to "remember" or find 6th gear. I remember taking the road test-- after 5 years of a 13 speed- the road tester eventually begged me to hit 6th gear "just once".

:Update: Well I was contacted back and everthing is good to go and wants me to meet his son in Dallas on Sunday ride to Anniston,Al unload and reload at the same place and back to Dallas and drop his son off and on my own and finish the load to Utah, it sounds like a good deal for a newbie and a good chance to get my foot in ths door with this business. If you have read other posts by me I feel alot better taking this job then that Fed Ex job with that contractor but I guess time will tell!

Definately keep us updated. Small companies are a different world, they have there good and bad points. Like I said, you'll either love it or hate it. If nothing else, I think you'll come to love being paid percentage, I always made a lot more money that way myself.
Best of luck to you, keep it between the ditches and enjoy the ride.
