Default Pride Transport anyone?

The search function does not return to many threads about pride so I thought I'd make my own.

I'm going to stay local for a couple months until I have my 1 complete year of Class A experience but I want (need) to go back OTR. I'm having withdrawls and I'm not happy with my life unless I'm heading east... I want to get off of the i-5 corridor badly.

What does everyone think about pride? Another driver told me they were owned or partnered with England? I've never heard that and I don't think it's true, but I'm just wondering...

Good miles? Good hometime? What are they governed at? I know they are somewhere around 65mph but last summer when I was heading east on 80 through nebraska, a COMPANY driver blew my doors off probably going around 75... I really don't want to be governed at 65 anymore.

THanks, any info would be very much appreciated!

Chris

They are connected to England somehow , there presidents last name is England , but they are not owned by CR England thank god .

I've heard there a very good company from two different drivers . One was from Colorado and stayed out 3 weeks at a time , he said most of his LOH's were over 1000 miles and usually got at least 3200 miles a week . The other had a nice shiny Pete and had been there 7 years and I guess lived in a good location because he was out 10 days and home 3 or 4 . I called them way back when and they said I would be out a month with where I lived , I said thanks but no thanks . I know there trucks run at least 72 , maybe the older guys run faster .

One of the England brothers left and started his own company a few years ago. Maybe he got sick of Cr England.

Why quit a good local job to go drive 4k+ a week and be gone for 1.5 months at a pop? I dont know why you're asking this Pride question on here when you can just talk to Kelland on Myspace. After seeing the withdrawals of your gf and homelife you went through while being OTR, my best guess it's not going to be any better the 2nd time around.

You better be careful. A lot of companies do not count local work into your total experience. Just something to think about. Good luck

I think thier only terminal is in salt lake. they have drop yards, i know they use the england terminal here in fontana as there drop yard. Very nice equipment, they run reefer an dry. A friend on myspace drives for them and is happy. Its owned by a member of the england family, but they are not apart of england, but you will use there terminals and from the one ive seen they are pretty nice.

I hear nothing but good things from pride drivers. I spoke to one on the CB the other day and said they have about 600 trucks and just got a 1/2 cent pay raise.

I'd give it a thumbs up.
