I hire LEGAL immigrants all the time. Mexican, Arabs, Russians. They are paid the same as everyone else.

In my opinion legal immigrants are one thing, but if you want to take a professional driving job in this or any country, you should be a citizen first. No need to debate me, this is my opinion, and always will be!!

I'm with you all the way, bambi, as far as not allowing Mexican NATIONALS (look it up, if you have to) to drive in this country, if we're not allowed to do the same in Mexico.

But you didn't answer #2:
2) You put "non-us resident" in parenthesis to imply that a "non-us resident Mexican" is no good for whatever criteria you're going by? (?) Can a driver be Mexican and a "US resident" at the same time? IF so, how?

And then you state:
"Should we add JB Hunt to this list as well? You do have a problem getting miles for your American OTR drivers....sad to think that the reason is you have a non-US immigrant to take those miles at a cheaper rate, weather they are legal or not. "

How they hell can an immigrant be a "non-US?" You're grandparents were not citizens?

Bambi, i'm with you as far as the money thing goes, but maybe you should have titled the thread "List of companies to AVOID that hire non-white drivers."

I'll start.

It has been public knowledge that Celadon will be using these non-US drivers to increase their profits. They are 1st on the list.

Any others?
What is the purpose of this list? It's one thing to hire an illegal immigrant but what is the problem with hiring LEGAL immigrants?

Thats like saying lets start a list of company's that hire Blacks, Jews, Arabs and Canadians. Hate to say it Cuggy, but unless you are 100% Indian your an immigrant too and should be put right in the list with Mexicans.

It's illegal to discriminate a person because of their race, but also illegal to hire ILLEGAL immigrants so what has Celadon thats so bad?

First....the non-white thing. I don't care what color you are. As long as you are American.

Second....the term Mexican NATIONALS is a much better description of what I am talking about. So I will start using that term rather than non-US immigrant. I want to thank-you for getting me more "politically correct."

And you know what? That's cool with me. Your company will give the same cash as everyone else means that you treat everybody equal. (and you know how much it hurt to say that.)

I'm talking about those companies will to hire " Mexican NATIONALS " for a lower wage, forcing companies to lower their wages to keep up, or lose the business. Paying that .10 cents/mile hurts every driver...

Sorry about the "immigrants" wording. What should have been used is " Mexican NATIONALS".

I have edited my all post to reflect the more PC term. Of course, if ya have a complaint, please suggest a term on what to call them.

Thank-you.

I know what you are saying now.

As far as celedon and the mexican national thing. I personally dont know enough about it to comment. However let me take the devils advocate side for debate purposes. Say Celedon does use mexican drivers bringing stuff across the border and delivery in the states at 13 cpm.
All in the good name of profit. Personally, I dont see that taking away from the american driver. This would be a new source of freight. Now say this happens and Celedon doesnt cut the pay of american drivers. And say the company makes record profits and the stock price goes up big time. Any Celedon driver who was smart enough to invest in the company would also benefit greatly by this. So everyone wins.
A good employee stock purchase plan at a very profitable company can end up in the long run making the driver more money than he was paid for driving a truck.
