I don't know much beyond their website, which says a fair bit. We talked to one of the recruiters, sent in an app, just to get told we weren't in the hiring range....but yet they run ads in the local paper here...kinda strange, but thats all I know.

Now that you mention it, and to the best of my recollection,KLLM is a company that has not been heavily discussed in the time that I've been here.

Apparantly, CAD's system went into some type of overload a while back, and many of the past threads were lost. Don't really know the back story there, not sure that it really matters.

I know that they are a pretty good sized reefer outfit, but that's about it. It does surprise me that a company as big as it KLLM is has received so little in the way of comment or review here.

That may be a positive sign; if tere is something negative to say about a company, people are not shy about speaking up here!!

BOL2U in your search!!

One thing is for certain; people are always going to have to eat!!! Let the reefer business slow down, and you can always use your trailer as a dry van!!

As long as you are willing to put up with the crap from the grocery warehouses, I say "Go For It!!"

I delivered to very few grocery warehouses; the few times that I did, I had to wait a few hours to get unloaded, but for me, that was just a chance to cop a little sleep!!

I am a former KLLM driver with over 1 million miles with the company, mostly in the Vernon Saywer Dry Division, pulled reefer for 1 year for them when I first started. Now about them: A very good company that does what they say they are going to do. I know all of the upper mgt on a first name basis and they really do try to take care of the driver.
They have about 1700 trucks.

They pay what they say and when they say, however there are humans that work in payroll so a rare mistake will occur, but always taken care of on the next weeks settlement...home time is good and they will get you home...miles....they are better on the reefer side.....benefits.....fair, no better or worse for a company of their size....equipment is well taken care of, they are putting APU's on all their new trucks so staying warm and cool w/o having the idling issues are great, and having 110 outlet in the truck.....safety...comes first....they want you to be safe and they will fire those who are not....repeated log violations and certain types of accidents will get you fired. Freight.....they don't haul cheap freight, they have very good customers and will keep you moving, they pay for lumpers , no hassles on that

They have a large group of drivers that have been with the company for a long time.....that says alot about this company. They are very willing to work with drivers when it comes to family and things that happen when you need to be around the house....they have a home time policy, but when a family memeber is ill or passes or something major..they want you to be home and will make it happen.

This is a company that you can drive for a long time and not get burned out. But just b/c they were very good to me does not mean that they are a perfect fit for everyone.

Drawbacks: Terminal facilities are not that great. They tell you where to fuel each trip. gotta match fuel to log book. Will have to do swaps with other drivers pretty often.

Good Luck, hope this helps

Kips, thanks for the info, I talked to them today after filling out my app yesterday... they said that my internet application was disapproved  I asked why that was and he said KLLM does not tell why they dissapprove an application :? The only thing that could have been an issue was that I worked for 3 companies last year, This was after I retired from the military and had 0 miles of exp...

Sorry that they declined you, the three jobs in one year probably did it.

The weird thing is that I got an e-mail from one of their recruiters Friday afternoon telling me she had received my application and to call her to discuss opporunities with the company??? Maybe someone that I spoke with on Wednesday reviewed my app again..... I'll call on Monday and see what she has to say :?
