Howdy ya'll been out of touch, power cord went out on laptop, got one on order and should be here when I get back later in the week! Welcome Mav, I guess I'll be seeing you around the roads!! If you see another Volvo, number 182, give me a shout! So far I really like working for Westar! Have been home 3 weekends in a row, I have to unload in Utah Monday morning and am about to head out now (weekend this week was Thursday and Friday). 2 Weeks ago they deadheaded me home from San Antonio instead of leaving me stuck in the ice storm that was coming over the weekend. I would have been happy just getting to come home but they paid the deadhead miles too, I won't argue!!

Good to have another Wichita Falls driver around! See you on the road, got to go to a safety meeting then head North!!!

I'm not real sure. I just know that he usually heads out sometime on Sunday. Most of the time, when he leaves out,it's usually not too far from home(he lives in Graham). Lot of times,he will pick something up around Houston, and come up through here for the weeked, and then head up somewhere in the Midwest.

Thanks. Leaving Sunday wouldn't be a problem, as long as its later in the day.

Often times I go ahead and leave Sunday evening so I can be one of the first in line to load in Monday mornings. From Wichita Falls, Westar almost always goes to either Duke, Ok, of Acme, Tx, both for drywall.

I have also learned that the first to unload in the am usually gets the best loads that are loading closeby! Just got back from Utah, spending the night at home and headed to Austin in the AM. Should be home for the weekend though!

Can one of you who work with Westar give us a ballpark of how their pay runs (for 6 months experience if possible)? And if they run per diem at all? Also if anybody knows what their rider policy is? They have a website, but there doesn't seem to be much info that way on it. Thanks.
