I understand you completely. I was also in the same situation when I started with JB Hunt. And it did start out good while they had me under a new persons dispatcher for the first two weeks.... but when they reassign me to a normal dispatcher, it fell apart. And as far as I'm concern, one strike, your out. And they received many, alot more than I will ever give again.

Now, I was OTR. You are looking at a walmart account. It may work out for you. You may even get that pay you need. I can't read the future, only tell you about my past with them. However, do you have a saving account to help you out while you "earn" your miles? If you are like most people, you don't have a savings that you can deplete while waiting for you dispatcher to decide you deserve a decent paycheck.

Now, their are other companies who are decent about putting their drivers on the road. This is why I always say "Ask a Driver, NOT a recruiter". I made a mistake not listening to them in the past, I won't make that mistake again.

One more thing. A successful driver is one who is happy with where they are at, not weather or not they still work for JB Hunt. You will find drivers on both sides, more on the side of dislike for good ole JB. But if a recruiter promises you something, tell him/her to put it in writing. You will find that almost all will refuse, or what they write is not worth the paper they wrote it on.

Good luck.

Well, I do that. My average week ranges from $850 - $1200 per week. I'm in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex here in Texas, and I work with a small company called Southwest Petroleum Transport, hauling fuel to different locations. I started on nites, but now work days. And this company is not the only company around here. Their are alot of companies in this field down here, and some pay more than mine. But these are real nice people, and they treat me right here.

Now, I did have to have some experience with being a "tanker yanker", but I know jobs are out their.

Now, I'm not sure how it is up there, so you might want to check around. You might get lucky.

Slayer,

I live in Colonie. I have seen John Mott trucks before. How are they to work for. A friend of mine keeps telling me to go talk to Fane trucking. My understanding is he has some state contracts and pretty solid to work for. I see them hauling stone, salt and some flatbeds. I saw one the other day hauling a big Bulldozer oversize down 155 towards Guilderland. Don't know where he was going.

Cool, glad to see someone else on here from same area. Good luck on your orientation. Maybe I will run into you some time.

Cya.

I have not talked to very many J.B. drivers ,but out of the ones I did talk to only one was disgruntled ... I met this driver at the minnoka IL pilot back about 8 weeks ago , But I don't think any company would work out super well for him ,as this was his reason for getting ready to quit....he got into the drop yard ,and dropped his load ,and needed to get an empty trailer ...He was pissed ,because dispatch couldn't give hime the exact number and location of an empty in the yard ,so he had to get out of the tractor and spot an empty himsef....he will find this common with all carriers !....He was talking about going to werner I asked him what his miles were he said about 2500 I said then with what J.B. pays you will be giving up pay to work at werner ...this person was going to quit over having to take the time to spot an empty ,and was going jump to Werner without even knowing the damn pay-scale . this person went on and on about how bad J.B. was ,but his only complaint was having to spot his empty at their yard ...which is not a valid complaint .
