question about j.b. hunt

was just wondering if anyone on here works for them in the johnstown ny area. they have a contract with wallmart. the recruter told me i'de be making 900 a week and stay local and plenty of home time. just really dont know what to do. right now im working for a small contractor that does the post office. would hate to quit that job and have j.b hunt be a joke.

if you have a good job now and making good money with hometime why would you want to leave. I did talk to a driver that was running out of the Walmart DC there he said it was mostly night driving but was making the money and getting home on time like promised. I am sure sheepdancer can answer this question better

Yep, Sheepdancer is a recruiter for J.B. Hunt. He should be able to give you the answers you want.

If you got a good job, don't give it up for JB HUNT. Another thing you can do is to check with other posting on this board. I would give you a link for my post telling everyone how I did with JB Hunt....but alas, it too is now gone. Also check with many of the drivers who will be more than glad to tell you their views.

And If after all of that, you still go with JB Hunt, GOOD LUCK. You're going to need it.

You might want to check out this posting, too......

DIAL 1-800-J.B. HUNT ...THAT'S 1-800-J.B. HUNT ... when I went thorough training my trainer had XM radio ,And I every time I see a JB hunt truck I think of that guy with the annoying voice doing that radio commercial . Sorry to take the thread off topic ,But that cheesy commercial still echo's in my head when JB is mentioned .

Wal-mart grocery is a great job. But its not local. More like a regional. You are delivering to Sams and Wal-marts all over the NE. 5 days on 2 days off (tues - Wed) Occasionally you might get to take your break at home during your shift....but I wouldnt think it would really happen that much.
If you want to PM, I will give you the name of a guy who used to run it. He doesnt work for JB anymore and is a Moderator of a board like this. He will shoot straight with you.

That's 1-800-"2" J.B. Hunt...1-800-"2" J. B. Hunt

I would suggest you talk with a few other drivers before making this decision.

Sheepdancer 11-20-2006 01:57 AM

Exactly...You should talk to a few drivers who run or ran the wal-mart grocery account. When you want to know the truth about a job, ask the people who SUCCEED, not a person who FAILED at a job.
