Sorry Von, I am not trying to pass judgement on you. I am just trying to prevent you from giving bad advice, if it is in fact bad advice. I have not taken the time to confirm that yet. We all do illegal things all the time, like last night I made a prohibited left turn. Stupid home depot in Natick MA only allows you to make right turns out of the drive, but the mass pike was to the left, and I would have had to take up the whole road to make the right anyway. Actually I think I was supposed to enter that way and exit the way I came in, so I blame the directions, or perhaps the directions operator (me).

Home Depot is going great. I left the house Monday at 2pm and got home again this morning at 6am. I don't have to leave again until around 8pm. Of course the nocturnal thing is sometimes hard to get used to, but at least I got my wife to not call me in the morning and interrupt my sleep.

I haven't actually caught up with your trainee Wayne yet. We are all in and out of there so fast doing only the drop and hook that I haven't met a lot of the guys yet.

As for the stores that are closing. Home Depot operates 2258 stores, so closing 15 isn't a big deal in my opinion. The stores that are planned to close are as follows:

- #2015 East Fort Wayne, Indiana
-- #2032 Marion, Indiana
-- #2310 Frankfort, Kentucky
-- #379 Opelousas, Louisiana
-- #2819 Cottage Grove, Minnesota
-- #6901 East Brunswick, New Jersey
-- #6904 Saddle Brook, New Jersey
-- #6171 Rome, New York
-- #3702 Bismarck, North Dakota
-- #3874 Findlay, Ohio
-- #3865 Lima, Ohio
-- #4552 Brattleboro, Vermont
-- #4932 Beaver Dam, Wisconsin
-- #4933 Fond du Lac, Wisconsin
-- #4913 NW Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Only the Brattleboro VT store is served by our division. I will bet that there is a Lowe's right accross the street. Some of the midwest locations I will bet that there is a Lowe's accross the street and a Menards around the corner.
Cool...If think you'll ever get up towards the Keene, NH HD and might head North on Rte 9, after or before, drop me a PM and you can stop in and visit. Plenty of parking and you can scare the other flatbed companies in to thinking that the evil TMC is in town; I now book freight

not a big fan of sleep aids, only "natural" one I've found that doesn't make me feel like crap in the morning is melatonin. should be sleeping much better given that the truck will be stopped, I will be laying on a better mattress, and there will be no trainer snoring at 110dB. I actually had to camp out outside the truck a couple nights.

what an awful week, I made more than my trainer. truck sat a total of about 40 hours.

Mon: showed up at a jobsite with a load of A/C units in Bethlehem, PA. didn't want them because no one from TMC called. went to a truck stop and sat all day. 100 miles today.

Tue: showed up again, took them 8 hours to unload 8 A/C units. bounced up to Stroudsburg to swap trailers with a guy who had broken down. 58 miles today. still in SE PA.

Wed: delivered early, at 8:55AM received a load from US Steel with a 9:00AM appointment. place is an hour away. arrived at 10:00AM and sat 6 hours waiting for a new appointment or a new load. received a new appointment, got loaded with coils and headed for SC.

Thu: arrived in SC early, delivered, bounced to pick up a load of insulation. they loaded the insulation 14' high and had to take it all back off. wasted 2 hours. headed for CT.

Fri: arrived in CT, got unloaded, picked up a load of slinkies (welfare wire) and headed across NY back to PA, got in at 11PM.

done with training, heading back to Des Moines tonight for Monday class and to get a truck.

That is why (even though you are not suppose to) I called to verify equipment was on site and that they were expecting the stuff! Was burned one time by the CSR on a A/C Load, after that, if the phone number was available, I made the call, or had MY FM call and verify!

Just a trick that gets learned the hard way!~

Well Lucky me. For my next full service the week after next I get to go to Des Moines and get my super singles switched for good old fashioned duals. Anybody else get hit with this yet? How long does it take?

And whither then? I cannot say.

I started doing that from day one. Either I call or tell my FM to call. I had one FM once who didn't want to call. I told him to either do it or I would. He did and lucky for me, there were special instructions. I would have wasted some time other wise.

I have been hearing rumors we were getting rid of the super singles. My entire trucking career has been with TMC and super singles. I don't know how duals will drive. I had a blow out once with the super singles. You have to park it when that happens. That is at least one advantage with the duals. I did like to tell people I don't drive an 18 wheeler, but a 14 wheeler. All those No Parking signs saying "No 18 wheelers," didn't apply to me!

Will we still park there? Of course we will.

Wow, what is up with the change!

It should not take long, if they are geared up for the swaps, changing out the tires should take less than 1 hour with on guy doing it, if they have two on the truck, 30 minutes! I would guess the speedo will need a recalibration, since there is a slight height difference!

The truck will also be a couple of hundred pounds heavier also, the duals are heavier than the SS setup!

I am all in favor of the rock thing. Happy to help!
