Quote: Oh great, I just got the form that TMC now has a lease purchase program, you can choose either a 387 or KW. I was hoping that they wouldnt. But its a win-win for them, no breakdowns, no truck maintanence, nothing, and best of all you pay them to drive thier truck, since a lease you still dont own it, your just long term renting. Plus, Im willing to bet your not taking that truck with you if you have a falling out.

Its just corporate america's way of suckering more in, and its coming from all angles.

Best of all, they work with Poor Credit!!!! Since part of being in business sucessfully is having good credit, and knowing how to manage that credit, usually those who cant handle thier bills at home, cant handle them with a business either...Yes I know, I have many family members in that same boat, gonna change the world and cant afford to do so.

I am willing to bet if it ever takes off, that the linehaulers may see some changes. Since LP would be like an o/op, they basically have many more options than company. Arrow is having some problems in some areas because the L/P guys want the best freight coming out period, and that leaves garbage for others. Oh well too early to tell, well see how it plays out.
Do you have a link to their website that describes the program? I'd like to see any details about it.

I doubt it will explode, because im willing to be most would rather have a long nose, than a t800 or a 378. I got a flyer in my pay stub. I guess we will wait and see. You should be listed as an o/op, so you wouldnt have a rider policy, there you go Fred.

Most Owner Op's I know still have a rider policy to follow, it's just not as strict. My Brother inlaw is an O/P and when someone goes with him they have to sign a wavier from his Co.

Only thing I'd like to see them offer is a 379 instead of the :dung: 387's

If I'm an O/O and I'm paying my own insurance on the truck, anybody I want is riding with me. A company that uses a rider policy on an O/O isn't one I am working for unless they are paying my insurance.

I'm seriously looking at TMC and I have a few questions for you guys.

I read somewhere about a 6 month contract and people not getting their last paycheck. Does someone who already went to a driving school and received his cdl but has no experience yet have to sign a contract?

I've heard some companies can be trigger-happy on DAC. When and why does TMC put something on a driver's DAC? Say I decide after a few months its just not for me or better yet, say I can't cut it during training will TMC, what will TMC do?

I'm a New Yorker and I love the east coast. Is it possible to stay in the northeast? Is it possible to be home daily (I'm from manhattan)? Is the freight better over here and is the pay better over here?

I am not opposed to running on weekends and nights, in some ways I would prefer it. Is it possible to run hard for 4 days and be off 3 consistently with TMC? I hoping to be back in school in 1.5 years and would very much like to be in a good situation to do that. Any positives to running nights and weekends?

Whats up with detention at companies when your in a TMC truck? Do you get to the front of the line quicker? How is it in the N.E.?

Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the help.
