Back in the old days, a lot less traffic, leave Weatherford Petro and go non stop to El Paso Petro, only 2 in those days, point ex hood and west bound attitude, at least 100+. After I bought my first truck and I had to buy tires and fuel and everything else, slowed my butt waaaaaay down.

I voted-
Back in the "Day" when things were a lot more Relaxed on the Road and Police were pretty much your buddies I used to put my Foot in it. In the 80's during the Fuel Crunch Montana didn't HAVE a speed Limit. Drivers carried a wad of $5 bills because unless you were TOTALLY out of Control you Didn't get a Speeding ticket-You got a $5 Fuel Conservation Ticket.

Okay. I had a 2000, Freightliner Classic XL with a 500 Cat, and 342 rears. Top speed was supposed to be just over 100. I did have it up to about 97 once. I know that's how fast it was because while the speedo only went to 85, the GPS was more accurate. One time, and one time only. And the four-wheeler quit playing games with me.
Otherwise, my cruise control works fine. Current truck is a 200 Classic XL, 342 rears, and a 500 Cummins. Cruise also works on this one. Should have the same top end, but I've never tried it.
