Same thing happened with Hockey when they made Helmets mandatory. Sticks came up after that happened.

After week 3 we have RCR in the lead and 5th. The major contenders finished well (Martin 3rd, Burton 5th) Harvick, Johnson, Kenseth,Earnhardt, Hamlin, Gordon managed to hold there own inspite of many troubles and bad pits stops. They all managed to survive and even moved up (Hamlin). Go Figure!!! Dega looms next, High Banking , super restrictors choking plate racing that true Stock Car fans hate. Die Hards appreciated the 210+ racing that used to occur here... Man them guys went fast and great racin" We are @ week 4, should be some really edge of your seat racin" I know who used to hold the advantage in the restrictor races but not anymore.. Tony looming out there, willing to do anything to show he belongs in the 10. Taking chances most won't makes him a very dangerous driver. That's why I think that if you can stay close this year there (outside Chase contenders) will win quite a few final 10 races. Every point is going to count.. NO runaways this year...
What do you think!!!

Truck race at Dega is going to be a wild one on the freshly repaved track with unrestricted engines. Word is, you CAN run 5 wide now at Dega all day long with the grip being so great. If Martin gets by Dega still in the hunt, without being caught in the Big One, this may be his year.

I think Hamlin will finish in the top 3. I hope he wins, but at least he should be a shoe-in for rookie of the year!

Unrestricted racin" @ Dega!!! Man them trucks will be flyin around that place.. Let's see how many Cup car drivers are threepeating this weekend. I beleive that the Trucks will be faster than both the other circuits, they will surely come up to speed faster... Hamlin is a lock for Rookie of the year, If the other nine don't pay attention he is liable (with a LOT of Luck) to sneak in there and lead for a few weeks. Just keep out of trouble, run consistently and take your chances late..

Only Cup and Truck are running this weekend. Busch is off. Unless they wanna run the ARCA race which is literally taking your life in your own hands if you remember Daytona, not this past Feb. but the one before when they had a monster crash with 5 laps to go and called the race 5 laps short. Billy Venturini was left with a broken neck after the young idiot drivers came full bore down the back stretch into the wreck instead of slowing up and stopping since the track was blocked.

Your right the Busch regulars are off. They do that @ Texas Motor Speedway as well. Cup & Busch together in the spring (April) All three together for the Fall races (Nov). During the summer the trucks run the same weekend as the Indy cars.. 3 weekends 400.00 for season pass, Turn 4 @ the entrance to pit road with the Finish line in line sight.. about 45 rows up so you can see all of the track.. All three have a party on the track the day before racin" Part of the season ticket holders bene..Man I love this sport!!!

This could be the year for Mark Martin, he survived 'Dega. Pending an official results list from NASCAR, Mark is just 22 points back of Jeff Burton for the points lead after Burton suffered a flat tire with 20 to go, recovered but finished 27th. Going into Charlotte where Roush runs real good and Martin has always been good at.
Kenseth is just 6 points back of the lead and he also runs good at Charlotte.
