And there lies the problem. Truck drivers scream and cry about how they are stereotyped. But yet most still live and believe in that very same stereotype. I see and hear it all the time. Some guy who bitches and moans about how the average citizen thinks all truck drivers are nasty, dirty ex-felons. Yet these same truck drivers who are complaining continue to have that "don't f**k with me" attitude and a tough guy image or go into a customer with nasty pissed stained sweats and haven't seen the shower in a week.
I go into some shippers, that a lot of other drivers hate because of the way they are treated, and have no problems. Why? I'm clean cut, I take showers at
least every other day, but usually every day, I wear Khakis and a polo shirt when I p/u or deliver. I present myself as a professional and when you look like a professional, you get treated like one.
