DAC Question

In 2006 I went to a cdl school in kentucky and they were going to charge me a fortune. 3 days in I found a company that would train me for free and I let the staff at the first truck school know I would be leaving. Went on to graduate from the second driving school and drove OTR for about 10 months before I had some trouble at home and needed to be home. I tried to get another driving job after things at home were resolved only to find that the first driving school put on my dac that I had been suspended for a failed drug test.
Even if i did fail one, which I didnt, this is before I ever got my license. Am I screwed? Should I file a dispute with USIS/Dac? If you are just going to flame me like the rest of the posts I have seen on failed drug tests just save your time. If you feel I am screwed say so... Would I need a lawyer to fight this? Thanks

I havent disputed it yet because it hadnt been an issue, but now that I need to get back in a truck its an issue. which is why I posed the question.
I was just on the usis site and printed off the form to get my dac and the dispute form... So I guess I will start there. I am hoping in the short term I can find a company that will let me drive until I can get this resolved. Really appreciate the input guys.

DAC only has 30 days from the time they are notified of the problem to either confirm the entry or remove it.
When you send in your official dispute over this, assuming it is truly on your DAC, I would pay extra for return receipt, this way you know they got it and when that 30 day period starts.

Thanks Uturn ,
I can see how that would be helpful and I didnt even think about that until I read your post. I just hope I can get this done and get driving again before we lose the house. Been working local construction since I got off the road and with the local economy between my wife working and myself. We are lucky to bring in 700 a week after taxes and such. Just cant keep everything going like that. I guess it would be different if we didnt have kids and all, but from what I understand I cant give them back LoL

Yeah, once the kids come out it does get a bit challenging trying to put them back.

Jobob.................I am having some dac issues as well. I have sent away for a copy, got last friday [11-02], called and disputed what was on report, was told I would get a copy of the updated report w/in 30 days. Question for Uturn........ should I get a "dispute form" off the site or by doing it via telephone will do the same thing, only I will have no hard evidence as to when I disputed it? Jobob,............. do you have the USIS web site handy? Thanks a bunch!

Pony Express...... I sent away for it on oct. 19, recieved it on nov. 2. They say 5 days but it took 13. I actually called, [800-381-0645], on mon. 10-29, and was told it was in the "out box" and would be mailed the next day, which it was. Sometimes it was hard to get talk to a "live" person but be persistant, eventually you will and the they should be able to check the status of your report.
Would you have the web address of the USIS?
