So, suppose we go back to those studies that say 67% to 74% of all car/truck crashes are the fault of the car, not the trucks. And, that NO-ZONE POSTER... The one that DOT is mostly just sitting on. Wouldn't it have to do with truck safety to form partnerships with private industry to have it posted at exits from employee parking lots? Wouldn't informing the public have to do with truck safety and saving lives??? Or would FMCSA using DOT's poster be overstepping too, because it's not FMCSA's poster??? It looks to me like someone is not doing all that they can in the name of safety. Someone's dropping the ball. Who is it?

SC also has that law. I live in Greenville, SC and see many trucks in the third lane, but it is usually only to get around slow or stopped traffic. Difference here is that the signs say "no trucks over 6 wheels", so there are a lot or straight trucks that us the left lane.

I run through Syracuse, in the left lane 4 times a week...no posted signs and never been ticketed for it. I'd like to know how the law expects me to SAFELY move into the left lane from the right lanes when you lose both of the two right lanes within a 1/4 mile stretch of road.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that the safest place to be going through Harrisburg is to be in the left lane. There are far too many 4 wheelers that have no problems with cutting you off in order for them to make a last ditch effort to get on 83 south. Yes, it's very obvious the FMCSA is dedicated to improving bus and truck safety and saving lives by agreeing with this law since it surely makes sense to force trucks into the most congested areas rather than let them plod along at the posted speed of 55MPH.

did anyone bother to figure out how many pts this violation carried or if nc would cite here also ,or if the lady driver all ready had some pts and was looking at a unpaid vacation with one more conviction.
i cant imagine the state wanting to go this far for only a 25 dollar ticket except to make the point we may cite even when no posted signs exist.
could this save them alittle money on sign cost or lets not post these signs so we can cite as many as possible.
how pa could expect every trkdrv to no its full detailed vehicle code is asinine were truck drivers not lawyers.
and for that judge who allowed this to go through to this point deserves a one way ticket to another country.

It wasnt the judge who allowed this to go as far as it did, it is anyones right who doesnt like the findings of lower courts to take it to the next level. (apeals) it is one of the few rights we have left.
