I am afraid that is a load on which I would have passed. I don't give my SS# out to anyone. That is beautiful country around Yellowstone. There are a couple of bears who live there. I think one is named Yogi. He is a bit odd, but has a good sense of humor.

You only give your last 4 digits of your SS# for credit checks and background checks. Then they match your name, address and full SS# at the bureau who actually have your full SS#.

Those loadboard URL's are...

I hope Steve does not reconize anybody while he is there or he may be fed to Yogi Bear.

I'm heading to Yellowstone national park with these rocks.....It's to someones house that's being built but I'm sure I won't find out who.
If you are heading into Montana in order to deliver to Yellowstone, I'm guessing you are going to drop down from Livingston to near Gardiner. That valley is called Paradise Valley and it is absolutely stunning. A lot of hollywood types have their "ranches" in that valley.

It will be interesting to see if that is where you are heading with that rock. That's a lot of $ somebody is paying to get rocks put around their house. Guess the "Rocky" Mtn's weren't rocky enough :) . Oh well...If you've got the moola, why not I suppose.

Hey Steve,

You know those strange kids you saw along the side of the road??

Ever seen "Children of the Corn" or "The Hills Have Eyes"....

Never walk up to one of them children.
They will look at you with eyes that glow and spin
Then they will vaporize you and steal your truck.
HA

I am scared of the dark sometimes in strange places but when we were kids we played Hide N Seek in the local grave yard.

Technical Question.
I tried to change my signature and add a small picture but nothing happens.
Does it take 24 hrs or something to come thru?

Thanks

Yup, Mortiki, Children of the Corn. No freaking way was I going to stop.

Wasn't there some other movie where the flesh eating aliens were hiding in pumpkins then sucked the brains out of the truckers while they slept at night?

There are instructions right there for the dimensions and size for a picture so I'm guessing that's the problem. The picture must be on your local hard drive then you click to upload it.

I have to pull over in Big Sky, make a call then they will escort me in.

My guess is that it will be Paris Hilton's new home and she will be so glad to see her new stone that she will make me cookies and pie. Later, we will do shots of Tequila and bash Britney Spears.

Ive chatted with a few guys on 2 meters. Theres another OM on this board KC0IV, he seems mostly to post on the New Truck Drivers Get Help Here page. You might also look at APRS. There is a special icon for semi trucks. Kenwood d700s just got discontinued, so you might be able to find a good deal on one and be set for APRS.

I will have to check that out. I just looked at this review on a ham place.

I rounded down... If there was a 4.5, that would be my first choice.

Pros:

- APRS built-in. Enough said. I just added my Garmin GPS to the mix with a linking cable and saw myself on a map. A very solid built-in feature.

- The wide receive of the radio is amazing. I like the receive in the 1.2 GHz range - it is a unique feature of this radio.

- The layout of the radio is fairly simple to use. Most of the controls were intuitive.

Cons:

- I miss the 1000 memories from my FT-7800 rig. It was nice for all that extra "scanning" room.

- Probably what cost this rig the the additional point in my rating was the way memory scanning works. As far as I can tell, the only way to scan memories is doing the "group scan" which is 20 at a time. I enjoy scanning local law enforcement and rescue frequencies on the radio, so I have to pick only 20 of them. In big cities, like Chicago, there are a lot more than 20.

Overall, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. The "group memory scan" will be something I'll get used to... Or I'll buy a scanner for my car!
------------------------------------------------

Looks like something I could love.
