I just bought 100 tarp straps, 10 /38 G70 20ft chains, 10 3/8-1/2" ratchet binders and 20 4" straps for 870.00 at www.kingroyusa.com. They are in Jersey and ship anywhere usa FREE. I got a better deal calling them than what was on their site. Check them out.

I can't believe no one here mentioned Wilson trailers. I have a 2005 Wilson 48X102 CF-965 Combo trailer. I absolutely love it. I can put 60,000 pounds on 4 feet of deck space (as if I could haul that weight) and the gross rating is 90,000 pounds.

I've pulled spread axles for years and would never go back to tandems. You do spend more money on tires though. ALWAYS, ALWAYS get it set up with a dump valve or a lift axle, there's just no other way to go. Also, don't use drive tires or steers with that thin wiper edge on the outside of the tread, you'll eat them up in no time. I run a closed shoulder steer tire on my spreads, Sumitomo and get around 150K out of them, which is pretty damn good on a spread.

I have been thinking about buying a tri-axle step deck. I haven't yet decided if I will do it with the economy and rates being down right now. I have some opportunities to do some loads that require a lower deck height and 3 axles. I suppose it will boil down to cost. I am waiting on the dealer to get back with me on a price. The way I want it spec'd it will need to be specially ordered. I have to work myself up to spending money.

Do you have any Idea how hard is it to setup a dump valve or setup for a lift axle on a tractor?

The dump valve isn't very expensive if you want to do it yourself. I think the last time I paid someone to install a dump valve it cost me about $300 for labor and parts.

If you want to be able to operate the lift axle from the cab you will need a separate switch from your dump valve. Some just use the one on their trailer. You don't need to use the axle lift as much as the dump valve.

By the way, you don't really need a dump valve if you have a lift axle. Most people have one or the other.

?????????????????????? Did I say something wrong?

A dump valve is very easy to install. Can be done in a couple of hours, switch wiring and all.
