If Mandilon sees this post, that you have $777 in fuel and only 667 miles he will have you arrested for treason(supporting the terrosist).

Hey Rev maybe you could explain why you went with Landstar instead of running under your own authority. I was just kinda wondering.

Whether or not those include the FSC is unknown) Flatbed loads were in the $3.25 range (flatbed gets 73%, so that $3.25 is really $2.37) with some going as high as $7.32 per mile for 1100 mile trips from Tacoma, WA to Ft McMurray, AB.
Wow, cool! Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. Maybe there's hope yet. I was talking about Canada in general, not Canadian landstar loads.

There is one problem with those loads you posted, and that is getting out of the Edmonton area. I've heard of guys deadheading all the way to Fargo, nd! That's about 1100 miles.

If I would have used $777 in fuel for those 667 miles, I would have myself arrested. Luckily, I still have over half a tank.

I never really contemplated getting my own authority.

Yeah, every once in a while there is a load heading to Alaska. The nearest reload is about 1300 miles away. They only pay about $2.30 per mile to the truck to go there too.

Your suspicions are correct, however. I did a search of a 500 air mile radius of Ft McMurray, AB, and there were no loads available.

Yeah there won't be much coming out of fort mac. Best bet is to try Edmonton or Calgary. Even then it wont pay well.

Bison runs "two for one" specials. They stole one of our customers in Calgary, and ran two trailers for what we charged one.

They put it on a daycab turnpike all the way down to Fargo, ND(with a couple switches on the way).

Then they hire a two-bit American bottom-feeding company to take it the rest of the way.

Even their O/O's are bitching, the long hauls are disappearing for them.

Frankly, I can't figure out why anyone would want to do long haul. Short haul (1000 miles or less) pays much better, for the most part. Plus, you can turn loads around quicker and put less miles on your truck. This past week, I ran 2299 miles total. I hope to keep that as pretty much the maximum that I'll run.

Sure, but 99% of o/o's up here are paid mileage, not percentage.
