I think they did away with that. When I started a few years ago, my Dad told me a sleeper birth could stop the clock. That has changed, but I'm not 100%.

1 doesn't stop the clock at all, only resets it.
2 stops the clock if it is at least 8 hours.
Unlike canada, which is any 2 hours of 2. But still, 16 hours is a lot anyways.
