Well, I'm home and full of Chinese food and Tequila so I'm happy. My truck and trailer stayed clean for my entire time out and the second I came back to New England my red truck is now white from tons of salt and no truck washes to be found.

I bought a new box for my trailer yesterday so I can get my chains and binders out of my other box. The chains were like snakes and wrapped themselves around everything and smashed my tupperware storage boxes. Everything is dirty and all over the place. This new box will just be for my chains, binders and anything else I don't care about getting dirty or tossed around.

So I call my friend down at the place where I park my truck and he's the welder there and says meet him down there at 7pm last night. Now keep in mind I'm normally in bed at 6 but I figure I need to get this done on his schedule.

This is a huge indoor garage so I pull my truck and trailer in and he gets to it. I pretty much just watch and hand him tools or whatever. I thought it would take an hour but now it's close to 10 and I'm like a zombie. He gets out this gas powered metal cutter to cut a piece of steel channel bar. This thing is going like Hell and TONS of sparks are flying out. I don't mean TONS, it's like a river of sparks.

So I'm standing back watching these sparks just cover a cloth chair. I'm so tired and mesmerized by the sparks I'm just glazed over as the chair is totally engulfed in flames. Mike finishes cutting the steel and sees the chair on fire and I'm just standing there feeling the warmth of the fire. By the time he gets a fire extinguisher I realize this wasn't right. He says, that's it for tonight, we'll finish another night only earlier. He couldn't stop laughing.

I hope that guy isn't charging you by the hour, Steve.

No, he's a friend of mine. I will try and give him some money though.

you should offer to replace the chair Steve since you let it burn, or at the very least fix it. How much tape you got left?

What are you doing Rosty, sitting some place going out of your mind?? lol

I don't think anything will bring that chair back to life.

I do fix a lot of things in the shop that's just not important to them. Like the towel dispenser, sink valve and today I fixed their standing halogen lamp.

Everyone is real nice to me there so I try and do something to help whenever I can.

It was probably all that faulty wiring on the truck that started the fire.
