Poor Rev, nothing better to do but sit home and bash people. Maybe your mom will give you gas money and you could visit someone. Maybe Diesel??
Well, anyways. I dropped my load off this morning and there was a whole bunch of trucks waiting. I'm just getting ready to crawl in the back and download chapter II of Truck Driving for Dummies when they came and got me and said I was up next. All the other trucks had panels that sit on top of the ones that I had so I was in and out pretty quick. I'm in a craphole T/A some place in Missouri then loading up in the morning with hardwood for floors then heading to Mass then home. Not sure what to expect when I get home since we've been pounded with snow ever since I left. I have a list of things to do but nothing serious. I do want to put another box on my trailer to hold my chains and binders. I was going to put hangers on the headboard but I don't want them taking up the room and out in the elements. The truck is running good and no problems other than the fuel filters and I plan to buy a tool and bunch of filters and start changing them on a regular basis. Not much else to report other than it's been real cold and really glad I have the APU on here.

There are other O/O on this board who think nothing of DH 300+ miles to go get 1.25 a mile freight.....I am not naming names but THEY know who THEY are.

Well, I am finding out that a 200 mile deadhead is a fact of life and I think in the real world this is the norm.
I've found that sometimes I could haul a load for $1.50 and deadhead 50 miles or I could deadhead 200 miles and get $2.00 on a 1200 mile run. I just deadheaded 200 miles to my next pickup point but this load is going to take me within 50 miles of my home. With fuel at $3.10 per gallon and 9mpg dead heading, $.34 cents per mile is a small price to pay in my opinion. Or, you can sit for 4 days waiting for a load that has a 50 mile deadhead. This is a topic that is so subjective and would give politicians enough ammo to debate until the cows come home.

I deadheaded 600 miles out of Canada before. Of course, a full boat was waiting for me across Ambassador bridge, and I made a ridiculous rate going into CanadaLand.
