Well the proverbial "cat" is out of the bag.............................. Only a couple of people have known this, but I have been contemplating leaving Davis Transport for some time now. I don't want to get into all the reasons as to why, but will say that things have changed with both them and with me and therefore it may be time for me to move on.

I have looked at several companies, done some research, and talked to drivers all over the country. I ultimately decided on Landstar and have submitted my application to them. From what I understand it is a pretty long drawn out process (a lot of red tape) but feel it will be worth it in the end.

I'll keep everyone posted.

Good Luck.
You could take a look at Lonestar...if you haven't already.

Thanks. I did look at Lonestar and if my memory serves me correctly, they require a minumum of 2yrs exp. which I don't have as of yet.

Lonestar is like lots of other companies DD. If you have already bought yourself a truck, you have already spent time as a company driver, as well as the owner of yuor truck...plus maybe you might have served time in a "Military" style organization...they are going to cut you a LOT of slack.

Never ever hurts to ask the question...and Lonestar is sorta kinda, in your backyard.

Quick update:

I put myself back on the board (back in service) with Davis yesterday. About an hour after I called Davis, I got a call from Landstar basically telling me I had the green light to proceed with the million steps they require to sign on.

So today I completed step 1 which was to have my T/T re-DOT inspected (even though the current inspection was still good) by an "approved" Landstar shop.

Tomorrow I'll take a whiz quiz (again at their approved clinic) as well as a new DOT physical. Once I have those wickets met and faxed off to them I should be receiving more paper work to fill out and send back with copies of my titles and registrations. I am sure there is more, but these are just the steps I recall off the top of my head.
