And I paid $107,000 for it. 8)
Probably some "leftover"! :P
But, good deal anyway! 8) Except that real Paccar, has a CAT in it! :P

I will pick it up Monday!

As far as your $115,000 Pete, you overpaid. Mine cost a lot less than that when I bought it last year. Just sayin.
Ain't you special! My truck might have alot more on it then yours does, is yours a 06 or 07? What sleeper did you get? Interior, Driveline, etc.... Did you think about that? So you might have got screwed!

You could also get an ex-Schneider International 9800 and old dog reefer trailer. It may not be pretty to look at or go fast but it'll make money and you can pay it off fast and own it outright
You would probally have alot in maintenace and repair each month that you could have made a payment on a new one.
And new trucks don't have maintenance and repair costs? I hear those twin ACERT turbos for CAT C-15's don't come cheap.

And what does? Nothing is cheap anymore in this business!
That's why i buy it new, and get it money worth, before i'll have to replace it.
Those "twins", got me close to 400 grand in revenue, so far, and counting...(knock on the wood)!

I love my Cummins. the repairs on it has been VERY low, and it is a very "consistant" engine - it has power when I need it, and it is nice and quiet.

You couldn't pay me to trade it for a Cat.

You paid $107,000 with a cum-a-part. I paid right at $115,000 with a CAT. The CAT cost more. Better resale with a CAT and any dealer in their rite mind will tell you that. I have always had good luck with my CAT engines.

Is your truck an 06' or 07' ?

You are delusional if you think a "dime a dozen Cat" is worth more than a Cummins. These numbers are right off of Truckpaper.com:

Brand new 379 with a Cummins, 10 spd, 63" sleeper: $119,450
Brand new 379 with a Cat, 10 spd, 63" sleeper: $117,200

Total number of NEW 379's available with a Cummins: 21
Total number of NEW 379's available with a Cat: 332

Total number of NEW 2006 379's with a Cummins: 6
Total number of NEW 2006 379's with a Cat: 77

What does this say? That Cat's are a dime a dozen, and Cummins are hard to come by, and are in high demand. I know this firsthand, as the original truck I had money down on (which had a Cummins) was sold out from under me by the dealership, while the trucks with Cat's sat festering on the lot.

Not to mention that the extended warranty on the Cummins is a heck of a lot cheaper than on the Cat.

Is your truck an 06' or 07' ?
Neither. I bought it last June.

About 5.75 mpg with the wing on the sleeper. Typical 379 numbers, and if anyone tries to tell you that a Cat will get you a better number, they are a liar.

My truck never goes over 70 mph, btw.

I had a coolant leak. That's it. Covered under warranty. 1 day downtime for the repair.

first off I sold that truck a while ago, second of all it was 310 not 300 and finally my wife never starved
If/when you are pulling overdimension/overweight freight the longer the better. The permits and rules are usually based on how many axles spaced over how many feet. Shorter trucks will require more axles.
