So was Cat clued out back then, or are they clued out now(since they ARE going with EGR)?
Cooled EGR is a proven technology. Thats why Cummins, DD, Volvo and Mack went with it. Next you'll be seeing complex catalytic converter systems with exhaust filters and urea (ammonia) injection which will turn diesel exhaust into harmless carbon dioxide, nitrogen and water vapor. They are already in use across the pond in Europe. The first step is the application of ULSD.

If/when you are pulling overdimension/overweight freight the longer the better. The permits and rules are usually based on how many axles spaced over how many feet. Shorter trucks will require more axles.
But 80,000 is still the max with a 5 axle combo, correct?[/quote]
