Baahhahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!

Hahahaha back at you. Containers pay great money directly from the ship/rail line. What is passed on to the O/O is what sucks. The man with the authority wins everytime!!! With no authority, you really have no authority. I'm not trying to argue, just giving you something to consider as a business man.
PROVE IT!!!

You cannot back up anything you post. All show and no go.

its not the rate but all the time it takes to do container work

besides what I mentioned

depending on the distance you lose a day every other day just dumping an mt and picking up a load.

then you may be with a situation where you picked a load up at berth 80

but the mt box goes back to a depot in Newark

and chassis goes to Croxton

then you lose 2 days

Which of your customers do you want me to start with? I would list some of mine in the WA, OR, N CA area, but I would never waste a good freight lead on a freaking loser like you :!: :!: :!:

This is my gripe and then I will leave you alone. You give advice as if you are some authority on the subject. You talk a good game. Broker since 97 etc. But just like telling 379 you have contacts in NJ and he should get authority etc. It turns out you have no idea what it takes to accomplish such a task. For a broker you should know this. Quite frankly I don't think you know that much except numbers. You seem to have access to invoices. But other than that.....
Also those direct shippers are junk. We discussed in length how food warehouses suck. What do you come up with? Freakin food warehouses!
This type of work is major hump jobs, to every little bodega and every alleyway loading dock with black marks on the door from people kicking it. It seems your working weekend idea is grocery or store delivery by the contacts you showed. Thats what I always wanted to do. Deliver Shop Rites on the busiest day of the week.
"Driver can you pull the cardboard trailer out,
back yours in to unload , then put the cardboard trailer back in when your done?...Thanks"

I do love your posts though
and I do have a list of power only nursury shippers for the Spring.(you must have own authority)
(if your interested)

this is pretty much unatainable for the o/o's on this board
You need to be familiar with :
Customs
Freight releases
Demurrage, demurrage, demurrage
interchanges
chassis pools
appointments
unloading fees
phantom damage bills
extortion
terminations
did I mention demurrage?
There's plenty more
Its not up to me to explain all of this here. A business man will do his homework and Git R Done. Not make excuses. This may be quite an under taking for a 1 truck show, however, he could haul direct for the warehouses that dray and dont own trucks. I have plenty of advice, info, contacts whatever you want to call it. I have helped numerous people and I will continue to do that. Also O/O's on this board can attain what ever they put their minds to.

I have my authority and Power, send the list i'm interested. In my post with grocery companies, i didnt list all grocery companies, I gave the guy 10 shippers that he can call on, 10 more than he had. I dont like grocery warehouses, keep my trucks out of them. Those loads might be just what he wants he may be able to get the highest rate ever for delivering every little bodega from Philly to Boston. I dont know. I have used all of those shippers at some point on my trucks never delivered bodegas, never moved scrap cardboard trailers. You can question my experience and I do know numbers and real life. I have been making money at this since DAY ONE, because I did my homework and learned some hard lessons fast. I'm not struggling, not worrying about slow downs, know seasonal freight and make money 365. I want diesel prices under $1.00 per gallon, insurance cheaper than pre 9/11 rates, and more O/Os with a cando attitude and not a victim attitude or a cantdo attitude. I come on this site because I like dealing with literate O/Os that are looking to improve, whether they have one truck or a fleet. I offer because I care, I dont know him or you and you dont know me. I know you need to load the wagon, make a profit and live. Some of you guys still look at things like employees instead of business men.
