I'm leased to the company, live in NJ, and mainly run between OH, NJ, and NYC.
Since i have no problem on OH side, but our customer base, on NE, is very limited, and brokers freight, that they could find in that area, ain't worth living the house , i would be interested, in a good paying loads, from that area, including Eastern PA, preferably to OH, but no farther, than MO.

I'm not trying to be a smart-ash, but get your authority. If youre looking for your own freight, what are they doing for their percentage? You may be hauling the kind of freight that pays big dollars now, but you will never know because they will skim, then offer you the shippers rate less the skim less their percentage. Ever consider hauling containers direct out of NJ piers and warehouses with your own authority? I have a lot of connections there, I was to set up a terminal in NJ, but my manager (a relative) got cold feet and kept his safe job driving for some trucking company.

Hahahaha back at you. Containers pay great money directly from the ship/rail line. What is passed on to the O/O is what sucks. The man with the authority wins everytime!!! With no authority, you really have no authority. I'm not trying to argue, just giving you something to consider as a business man.

This is exactly why I question your advice.
You would need years of pier experience to even consider such an endeavor.
and someone in the biz since 97 should know this
this is pretty much unatainable for the o/o's on this board
You need to be familiar with :
Customs
Freight releases
Demurrage, demurrage, demurrage
interchanges
chassis pools
appointments
unloading fees
phantom damage bills
extortion
terminations
did I mention demurrage?
There's plenty more
