Good luck with the new venture!

Do you have to purchase a dump box to go on the frame? Or, can you "lease" that along with the trailer? Just curious.

Later,
Jason

Sounds like a good job Floored, I wish you luck and would love to hear how it goes for you.

I'm knocking around what I want to do with my trucking future and I know I'll be buying a truck at some point but for now I'm going out on the road for at least a year or better to work the bugs out after finishing at Western Pacific. Today was my first day and looking forward to tomorrow. One day at a time.

Yeah the box and trailer are leased, my "lease" rate is a set at 12% each month of gross including the broker fees. If business is good down the road I may buy my own set but until I learn the biz I'm going to play it safe and keep the investment low.

Yeah I'll make a post as I get down the road on how the biz is working and whatnot since there isn't a ton of info out there for "dirt haulers". I'll only drive the truck a couple of months myself, after that I'll be home running things. I've gone out on a few runs so far with the company and other O/O's there and its cake. I wish I did this off the bat when I started out, but seeing the country was nice too and I got a lot of learning in over the past year going OTR. How did you like Western Pacific school? I went to Western Truck School myself. Did you get hired anywhere yet?

Hey floored your telling me your leaseing the dump body that goes on the truck. Never hread of such a thing. :?: So what if you leave they take it all back off your truck. Do they pay for the PTO and to run all the lines .

I buy the PTO/wet kit and they install for me when they do the box, if I leave they keep their box & trailer, I keep everything else. There is no charge for the install/take off on the box. I just pay them their percentage each month. Not a bad deal really, and its a nice box trailer set up, only a couple of years old.

Actually just started school so I don't even know how I like it but if it gets me my license I'll like it just fine. I drove a bit in the service but never got any "official" training so now I'm making up for lost time. I have a few recruiters sniffing around but nothing definite yet, my goal is to work for Gordon and they're coming in on Thursday so I've got my fingers crossed.

You know I can't remember the name, it is not NTP or a Freightliner warranty, its through some other company that requires you to run their special fluids in the truck. I'll get a name for you when I pick the truck up as a FYI.
