Default Discredited for driving autoshift trans?

Thinking of going to Transam but worried if my experience will be discredited because of the automatics they have. I want to do LTL line haul loads eventually. Will these and any other future companies hold this against me?
Thanks for any input.

Have you driven a standard before (more than just in school)? If you have OTR experience in a manual, the auto won't affect you.

You might want to think about starting out at a company that runs manual trans just so you can get the experience. Why limit yourself later down the road?

Is it the same thing in Canada with new truck drivers being discredited down the road because they started their career in an autoshift transmission?

You'll be fine as long as you only ever work for a company with autoshifts.. ie newbie companies that view drivers as **** they have to deal with.

You go to a company with 2 years experience and then mention youve only driven autos theyre going to politely wish you luck and suggest you come back in a year when you have experience.
