If you are willing to pay so you don't sweat then you really are missing the point. Are you willing to pay to idle your truck for 12 hours per day for 3 or 4 days while you are not getting paid because your dispatcher can't find a load for you?

My company wants less than 30% idle, BUT....they also tell us that if its too hot/cold....IDLE YOUR TRUCK....course I get yelled at by one of the owners coz I shut it down in the winter when its 10 above

Connect with a company that has APU's ....... (ones that work)

My idle times are usually 0.00 ...but the compressor on mine locked up.

As I type this the thermometer is reading 107 here in this parking lot.

So the big Cummins will have to do the work.

My company does not charge you for idle....they route you into the shop

so the APU can be repaired.

Depressing scenario and I guess your point is not to work for a company like that but as a newbie who needs company training with no options we have no choice. If this sitting long situation happens then I will idle and see what the forces that be speak and find out the penalty then. Can't think of another way around this. I need this training and job. Thanks for weighing in..
