One of the reasons the system is failing is because the people don't get involved as they should be. You are giving more power to the vote of those that do, which is a much smaller group whom a lot have agendas behind their votes.

i dont 'follow' anybody, Gus. i actually do something most americans don't. I'll gather as much info about a topic, then formulate my own opinion.
See, i have two reasons i dont vote. 1st...its meaningless. the crap that gets shuffled around dont mean a thing. 2nd, i believe if you vote, you have no right to complain. I know people will turn that around and say, "..well if you DONT vote you have no right to complain...", but where is the logic in that. If you vote...and you elect selfish ignorant leaders and they get into office and screw everything up, then you are responsible for what they have done, YOU voted them in, YOU have no right to complain. I on the other hand, who did not vote, who didnt even leave the house on election day, have every right to complain as loud as i want about the problem you created. But i have solved this little problem, i do basicly the same thing as those who vote, but whem i'm finished masturbating, i'll have a little something to show for it. ;-) But, you know, Kevin, you don't do a thing about your financial situation by sitting at the dock. You have to put the truck in gear and make some miles in order to get paid. Well, in order to be able to stake a decent claim in your own future, you have to fight for what's yours. By not voting, you're not doing a damned thing. Just sit on your but and let everybody else do your work for you... Then complain you don't have the bennies you want. Guess if you were a farmer, you'd sit by while someone else plants your field, then complain about having oats instead of corn. Or pop corn instead of sweat corn. Sorry, Bud, but if you don't have the where-with-all to get off your dead butt and make your opinion known, you have no right to complain later. May as well just hunker down and wait for them to come along and know your head off.

But, you do also have another option. You do not have to vote for the candidates listed on the ballot. A protest vote? Write your own name in for President. It tells them you don't want either one. But it's a message. No vote... Ever hear that "no news is good news"?

i have, and will continue to do so, especially when 'brothas' who speak up, seem to always say the same thing, and it always sounds so rehersed. Wonder where they plagiarized that from, cause you know it isnt their own thoughts. BET maybe??
Funny how you ask one exactly what Obama's talking points are, and what he stands for, most couldnt tell ya. They only voted for him based on skin color. And the proof is in the pudding, cause 90% colored voted for him, and only 50% crackas did. but seriously, it dont matter. politicians are only put in office to give us all the illusion that we are really in charge. this is seriously sad and pathetic on you Kevin.. First of all has it ever come to you that maybe just about every Black person and hell even Minorities knew what Obama was trying to do and change.. Trust me it wasn't only about skin color, if that was the case Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would of been the First Black Presidents so one thing right their that your absolutely wrong and ignorant about... 50% White is a large number Kevin, when you say "Only", the Only your talking about is half son.. Again i don't want to make a clear cut personal attack on you this post was a clearly ignorant and stupid.. their is alot of African Americans who are bright and knows politics real well, Most elder African Americans don't even Watch BET, do you know what comes on BET Kev?? its only an 1 hour a day of Political Talk if any, and even When Obama was campaigning their was a little bit more coverage but not much more.. Again, i will guarantee you would not a call him Osama, which is not only offensive to the black community but to the muslim community as well, at a truck stop with a group of brother's around.. and i don't mean one black guy out in Wyoming, i'm talking about cities such as Chicago and Atlanta.. One more thing, are you by chance a racist?? this is the 4th somewhat racist remark this year??

Yes I do. A whiner is nothing more than an armchair quarterback, or a back seat driver. They are all talk, but when it comes to getting their hands dirty, they are nowhere to be found. Your view on politics is not unlike your view on trucking. It's always someone else's fault.

*Edit - I cant find nothing so it might not have been him. But i do remember i poster saying is was racist and didn't care what people thought. But i did find alot of posts by Kevin saying he is far from racist*
