well this is what i'm going to do. i am going to take swifts O/O class, and then find out if i can get a truck from a 3rd party to lease on with. if not, any truck i lease will need to be fairly new, not some 4-5 year old truck with 200k miles on it calling it new and selling it to me as 'new'.

if i go o/o and make what i'm making now, but can have my dog and an inverter....why not =)

You'll need more than that. Either teach your dog to drive, or install an "AUTO-PILOT". You'll need an air-card for your computer because you'll have to keep tabs on your bank from the truck, and accounting software, and...

already have an air card. dont know what i'd do without it. And if i ever did go O/O i would make sure my DM knew that i would want a dedicated run. My mentor ran a Wal-Mart account. Now i know those DCs will give freight to their drivers first, but Wal-Mart is so stinkin huge....there has got to be more freight there than OTR.

Not much of one who likes roommates.....so i dont think i could handle a student for 6 weeks....regardless how many miles they drove that i got paid for.

LOL....my chit dont get repoed. i'm not one of those stupid americans who use their credit card, pay 26% interest on something that costs $12.50. And then not like it when they got it home anyways. I dont buy anything that i cannot afford. I dont have $1000 in revolving payday loans each week. I dont get an 'advance' for something that i WANT right now. Anything worth having is worth waiting for....besides, you cant take it with you when you die anyways....

If i can find something with a truck payment around $400/wk, and i run 2000 miles a week, i should still clear about $500-600/wk, after all my payments/tax taken out. Thats what i am making now.....and i can do whatever i want in MY truck. If my paycheck stays the same, and i have the added bonus of having my dog and hooking up an inverter....why not?

for you to say 'see you at the repo lot', and not even knowing anything about me....i find that comment ignorant.

I would suggest you spend a bunch of time researching, being a O/O before, you jump to far into this. Being a O/O is totally different than being a company driver.

Just a coment on leasing from England, I can't imagine if you really listened to the speach on lease signing, that you were paying attention. England is a blood sucking company. They take advantage of newbys, and their lack of knowledge of the industry to their best advantage. I can't tell you the amount of drivers who walked away from their lease because they weren't making money. I know first hand, how easy is was to get a $.0 paycheck, or even worse, money owed to them. I could go on, and on, but I wont. If you are lucky, you can get thru it pain free. They get people in by offering to help get your CDL. Yes, they will get you there, but, honestly....I don't think the drivers they put out there are completly quailified. And thats a shame.

If you can find some "4-5 year old truck with 200k miles", you better buy that damn thing. It's amazing how little you know about what you're spouting off at the mouth about. What have you been driving for like, 6 months? And you already have it all figured out?
