It sounds like FuelMan already has a good CPA and or is doing a good job of minimizing his tax burden.

For being in the top bracket you only gave 10% to the Feds and 3% to the Peoples Republic of Kaifornia.

The entire point of income tax is that it is progressive; any tax system is going to have winners and losers.

As a single guy I get poned taxes; it is part of the reason I'm a LTL city man earning $40k/yr versus being a road driver at $65k.


Renters pay property tax also, its just baked into their rent.
