Personally, about this time last year I started as a student with a trainer at Swift after spending $3000 on a local CDL school. Fast forward to today and I discovered that trucking just isn't for me. It took $3000 and a year to figure that out, but I disliked it enough that it totally changed my perspectives on career choices. I'm currently going back to school and pursuing a career in law enforcement (police officer). From my experience, most people who bitch about truck driving constantly but don't do anything to remedy that are one of two things: Lazy or Stupid. Too lazy to change whatever they don't like about it by changing companies or careers. Too stupid to realize it isn't working for them and they should find something else to do. And I'm sure you're asking yourself why I'm posting here if I no longer drive a truck. Well, while it wasn't for me, I still like to keep up with what's going on and sometimes offer my perspective to new people who might be apprehensive about it like I was. |
