Same way people with DUI's get charged with traffic incidents instead of drunk driving...plea bargains and legal maneuvering. Since one case was still pending and not resolved when the second incident occurred, can't convict someone of a second offense when the first offense isn't yet resolved and convicted. Just wondering if there was a chance to get hired as a second/co with the same scenario. Actually surprised that child support wouldn't matter since license can be suspended just owing 3 months support in most states. I would think employers would be weary of that. one more thing, you say the second offense occured while the 1st one was still pending? get to aa right away and get straight before you end up in prison after killing someone

The inside of a truck is not a good place for a young child! The noise can damage sensitive ears, fumes from exhaust and poisons from plastics and upholstery even worse. It is a very dangerous environment al around. Seek an alternative!!! Besides, being a trucker and a full time dad dont mix.

It doesn't matter if you can get a CDL. What matters is that no carriers' insurance company in their right mind is going to put you behind the wheel of a truck.
My apologize Embarassed Embarassed , most "trolls" usually just drop a bomb on the first post then are never heard from again.

no offense. but most companies are going to write you off for having a very poor lack of judgment. 1 offense is bad enough, but then you did it again.. then you dont pay child support. you would be too likely to cause trouble for your employer.
one more thing, you say the second offense occured while the 1st one was still pending? get to aa right away and get straight before you end up in prison after killing someone Ok so I guess I will post the real story now. Notice- I have never said I or me in any of these posts about drunk driving, ect. I happen to have a CDL as I occasionally drive trucks in my job. I used to drive more frequently but not so much any more. The person who has these issues (and many more including much more recent meth use - but no arrests for the meth) is my son's mother! Usually when people post about a woman- she gets all sympathy and crap so I wanted some solid answers before hand. The story is that she had these OWI's and has used drugs. I was thinking the child support might hurt her chances too since I plan to push for a license suspension if she does get a CDL. Her current boyfriend is apparently driving livestock trucks and she got fired from her job so she's thinking she is just going to ride with him and get her CDL to co drive. Part of the reason she probably wants to do this is so that her child support isn't withheld from her check. She is a dangerous person with her drug habits. I sure as hell wouldn't want to share the road with her in a big rig. I'm just wanting to see if she would actually get hired by anyone. Despite her criminal background, she has worked for the railroad in the past too. She can probably pass the CDL because she drove some military vehicles before she got kicked out for drug use.

A random drug and alcohol test (which she will be subject to, both pre employment, and during any employment as a CDL driver) should rule out a driving career for her if she has those type of issues..
