The bunkhouse in Medway is basically that. There is a huge room with a number of block "cubicles" in them. Each of the cubicles has a bunk bed and a dual locker.

The shower area has individual showers with shower curtains that open to a common room. The showers sucked when I was there - low water pressure and sulphur smell.

There is a large common area with a couple of games, pool table and ping pong table. There are also 2 fair size rooms with tv's in them.

While it's not the Hilton, it's not all that bad. You'll only be there a couple of days.

What is it with multi-million dollar companies treating truck drivers like cattle? No wonder new people get soured by the whole deal.

I'm not sticking up for USX, but that place isn't that bad. I've been put in motels that were FAR worse than the bunkhouse. You're only going to be there for a couple of days, so what's the big deal? If you can't handle less than perfect living conditions for a couple of days what are you going to do when you're living in a space the size of a walk-in closet for weeks on end?

The way some people make it sound, you'd think you're gonna be there for months on end living in a army barracks, where you have no privacy, showers that are wide open with 50 guys standing around naked, etc etc etc.

Of course, if you want to spend the $$$ to stay in a motel, go for it.

I'm in the military. I know what all that's like. I guess I am trying to say that if a trucking company treated drivers like people instead of seat warmers, there would probably be a lot less turnover. It goes the other way too. Probably some drivers out there that aren't very honest as well.

We been full time RV'ers for going on 2 1/2 years now and I spend most my time in the back berth (my office) that is 7' x 7 1/2' where my computer and 19" LCD moniter is on a shelf front end of my single bed.
TV above that. Printer also on shelf.

I can't wait to get my own truck so I have my own office.

Now my youngest son just got a new Safari Motorhome with 4 slides. WOW you walk into that and you think you just went into a house.

Someday truck sleepers will have 2 slides.

Is it the same terminal that Victory express was in back in the 80's?
