I could be wrong, but I BELIEVE you are referring to the Tiger TruckStop in Esperanza, TX - mm 87 - on I-10 east of El Paso.
The tigers are gone now (I think) and the place is a bit "dumpy," but I never tried the food!
VERY large gravel parking lot.

I thought that was the Tiger Truck Stop in Kingman AZ?? I could be wrong.

Fireman: Do you have one of those little $5 truckstop books? There's no such stop listed in Kingman, and I have never seen one though I go through there about 4 times a month. I take I-20/I-10 route nearly every week during the winter months (and sometimes during the summer) and I have stopped in at the Tiger Truck Stop in Esperanza several times. (I don't like the Petro at exit #37 due to traffic problems.) The CAGES are still there for the tigers, and they have pictures of them (including the white ones) on the walls.
I guess it is POSSIBLE that there is another truckstop somewhere (like Kingman) with tigers in cages.... but I kinda doubt it.
Of course, I too, could be wrong. But, I run one of 3 or 4 routes to Cali or the West coast nearly every week. I see the same "stops" all the time. It is much easier for someone who drives randomly around all 48 states, or someone like the original poster, to maybe get "confused" as to where they saw a particular truckstop. I can just about name EVERY major stop on I-20, I-10, I-40, I-70 (west of St. Lou), I-80 (west of Omaha) and give you the mile marker without looking!
It's almost like having a dedicated run.... but I DO get some variety each week! 8)
