400 watt.

I am sure someone will come along with 500, 700 or some other BS, and while you might find an inverter with a 12v plug on it bigger than 400 watt, the wiring in the truck is not going to be able to carry enough juice to supply it and if it does you are running a huge risk of fire.

Yup. The average microwave requires a 1000 watt inverter that is hardwired to the truck electrical system.

DO NOT try to power it with a plug-in inverter....you will burn the tractor to the ground.

Wire a bigger inverter directly to your batteries. Be sure to use a fuse as close to the batteries as possible. I like the inverter to be 10% capacity higher then the microwave. Be sure to match the peak amperage requirements.

I have a 1500 watt inverter that I hooked up 4 gauge jumper cables to it. Cut off the clamps off one side and run the other side out the side door of your sleeper to the cat walk if you have a battery connection back there. Just don't leave it hooked up. Heat your food up then fold them up and put them back under your bunk. Of course this sucks in the rain and snow. I know from exp. But it saved me alot of money not having to eat at subway all the time lol P.S. the company I'm with now allows them. So I have one hardwired now.

i think this means if he adds anything else to the battery that was not installed by the factory or company, i.e. a hard wired inverter, that he WILL BE FIRED.

use the microwave in the truck spot, they are usually clean, not guaranteed

Or just blow the fuse for the cig lighter repeatedly?

Are additional battery connections common? I know nothing about tractors, but it seems that's an extra most companies wouldn't pay for.
