here is a journal of someone just starting with LJ http://www.truckersroad.com/fusionbb...php?tid/45152/[/quote]

Thanks mike3fan. He only put up a post for a couple days though. It sounded like a lot of east coast and NY, but he acted like they pay pretty good.

Last I checked, Maverick didn't hire out of the North East.
we do hire some out of northeast just not way up in New England or up against coastline. If you live in pa, we go basically along I-70 and below in east pa and it goes all the way up the state of pa up above pittsburg. Not sure give Maverick a call and they can tell you. Bol

Yeah, LJ Kennedy is not so bad, if you don't mind tarping for $10.00

Omg, and I thought tarping for $20 was bull :dung: . I couldn't stand to do it a first, but I just started thinking that I was doing it to get excersize to stay in better shape and it helped a lot. 8) Still, I am happy that they finally raised it up to $30. but next job will probably not be flatbed, it's still not really worth it. :asta:

I am extremely happy at L J Kennedy. Yeah the $10 to tarp sucks but I might tarp 2 loads a month, 3 on a bad month . Most of our tarped loads are sheetrock and they are all drop and hook pre-tarped. You get paid $15 everytime you load and $15 every unload so that makes up for the low tarp pay. Plus they give you $25 cash on your comdata card for every night you have to sleep in your truck. CPM is .43 I average about $850-$900 bring home plus the $100 cash they give. They get you home for every holiday and pay you $125.

I run 2000-2400 miles a week and am usually home by 5pm on Friday and get at least 48hrs HT every weekend. The company is very family and driver oriented. They are treating all thier system drivers to a weekend gettaway at the races this weekend all meals, hotel provided by the company. There are few jobs like them in trucking imho.

Aside from the low tarp pay my only other complaint is they have no rider policy.
