  • one of those air hoses with a glad hand on the end that will reach all the way to your trailer tires
  • Set of wrenches including 3/8", 7/16", 1/2" and 9/16" (will save your ass so many ways
  • duct tape
  • electrical tape
  • knife
  • pliers
  • Vise-Grips
  • crescent wrench
  • basic screwdrivers
  • 10 gallons of 50/50 coolant/antifreeze mix (best) or plain water (better than nothing) (so you can refill your radiator after you cut the end off your blown heater hose and re-clamp it)
  • gallon of oil
  • gallon of hydraulic fluid (if you drive a cabover, which nobody does anymore)
  • basic 1/2" socket set
  • shop towels
  • big stack of pr0n to entertain you on those lonely nights
  • sleeping bag good to -50 F for when your engine is busted down in the freezing ass cold

  • Torx screwdriver if your dash requires one (so you can replace lights or re-attach the wires going into your tach or speedo)

Same thing the coffee can is for. Some of these stew bums turned truck drivers think their sleeper is a porta john. Be careful where you step around trucks, these types tend to just dump the bag-o-crap in the parking lot.

And, after you find enough room in that cab to store a 5 gallon bucket (who needs THAT much volume anyway?) You're gonna NEED to save space by using that military p-38 can opener!!!!

And I guess you MIGHT need a COUPLE gallons of Clorox to clean out that huge BUCKET..... but, I think ONE quart of the stuff might be OVERKILL!

Some pretty funny stuff listed here!! Newspapers?? I stand on ONE foot, while pulling off my sock and replacing it with a flip flop on the other.

Well, to each his own..... but I prefer to go into a truckstop and use the facilities. Or even a rest area.... or the shipper, receiver, roadside cafe... and the list goes on.

I just got a chuckle out of the sheer SIZE of this little "essential" that was added to this list. I have trouble finding room for a box of crackers in my truck at times! I sure wouldn't "dedicate" so much of my limited space for a 5 gallon bucket, 2 gallons of Clorox, and some of the other items.

Picture the look on the trainer's face, when his "newbie" shows up the first day dragging a 5 gallon bucket, 2 gallons of Clorox and a stack of newspapers with him!

That's why I carry a cellphone!

If I lose ALL my coolant at one time, I'm on the side of the road calling for a service or tow truck!!
